Grantee Projects
One of the NSASP's four result areas was the award and implementation of grant projects. Twelve grantees were selected based on successful proposals submitted to the Programme Management Unit. The overall grant budget amounted to €1,000,000 (approximately, GMD 36 million), with individual grants available of up to €90,000 (approximately, GMD 3,250,000). Each grant was awarded under one of two Lots: Governance and Democratisation; Sustainable Livelihoods and Poverty Reduction.
Grantees were supported through ongoing monitoring and evaluation by the Programme Management Unit in the form of quarterly review and outreach visits, and weekly drop-in sessions. Grantees also submitted quarterly and final monitoring and evaluation reports. The impact of the grants was measured through grantee self-assessment, and beneficiary assessment, reports.
Awards were presented to grantees at a ceremony in February 2012, to recognise and celebrate their contributions to development within the programme's activities. The aim of the awards was to promote best practise in civil society and beyond, particularly in the areas of organisation, management and financial reporting.
